French Freelance Language Instructor and Trainer

At The Write Direction, we are currently seeking experienced and dynamic French Freelance Language Instructors and Trainers to provide French instruction and training for professionals, with the potential for those qualified to also serve as Pedagogical Advisors. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate educators with expertise in both language instruction and educational strategy. Key Responsibilities

1. French Language Instruction

  • Teach French to professionals in a government or corporate setting, focusing on oral, speaking and written proficiency.
  • Develop personalized lesson plans and learning strategies to meet individual/group learner needs and progress.
  • Assess language proficiency and provide feedback on grammar, pronunciation, writing, and conversational skills.
  • Adapt lessons based on learners’ unique learning styles and proficiency levels.

2. Pedagogical Advisory Role

  • As a Pedagogical Advisor, support and mentor fellow educators by providing guidance on teaching methodologies and curriculum development for language acquisition.
  • Advise on the integration of effective instructional strategies and learning outcomes in the context of language training for professional clients.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to refine educational materials and tailor lesson plans to address learner needs effectively.
  • Assess the overall effectiveness of language instruction and recommend improvements to teaching practices.

3. Curriculum and Material Development

  • Develop custom teaching materials, exercises, and resources tailored to adult learners with varying proficiency levels.
  • Integrate real-world and professional contexts into lessons to ensure relevance and engagement (e.g., formal business language).

4. Monitoring Progress and Feedback

  • Track learners’ progress and provide constructive feedback, ensuring that goals and learning milestones are met.
  • Regularly review learning outcomes and adjust strategies as necessary to improve effectiveness.

Qualifications

1. Language Teaching Expertise

  • Proven experience as a French language instructor/teacher,preferably with adult learners or professionals.
  • Strong ability to teach both formal written and conversational French with an emphasis on professional applications (e.g., legal or business language).
  • Familiarity with language proficiency frameworks (e.g., CEFR).

2. Pedagogical Advisor Experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a pedagogical advisor, educational mentor, or curriculum developer.
  • Ability to provide strategic insights on language instruction, ensuring it aligns with learners’ needs and organizational goals.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective educational strategies and training programs.

3. Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in language teaching or pedagogy are a plus.
  • Certification in French as a Foreign Language (e.g., DELF, DALF) or equivalent certification is preferred.

4. Experience in Tailored Training

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for high-level professionals, such as those working in government or corporate environments, with a focus on language used in formal settings.
  • Experience providing training on professional development, especially related to language acquisition for specific occupational needs.

5. Professional Qualities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Passionate about language teaching, educational development, and fostering an environment of continuous learning.

Additional Requirements/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in language teaching or pedagogy are a plus.
  • Certification in French as a Foreign Language (e.g., DELF, DALF) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with online teaching platforms and technology tools for virtual learning.
  • Experience in multicultural environments or teaching professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of French culture, including current events, political terminology, and formal business language, is a plus.

Payment

Each project is priced individually based on length, complexity, and turnaround time. New French language instructors/trainers will receive competitive rates, dependent on the scope and requirements of the project.
