- Professional and Business Writing: Proposals, business plans, grant writing, policies and procedures, SLAs, manuals, and operational content.
- Technical Writing: User guides, compliance documents, product manuals, white papers, and process documentation.
- Analytics and Data Services: Reporting, scenario modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and data-driven insights.
- Technical User Manuals: Comprehensive product and system documentation, including exploded 2D/3D diagrams and visual guides.

Role Overview & Responsibilities
As a Freelance French Translator / Writer, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, polished, and client-ready content, including:
- Translating content from English to French and/or French to English with accuracy and cultural sensitivity
- Writing and adapting French content to ensure clarity, tone alignment, and audience appropriateness
- Reviewing and editing translated materials for quality, consistency, and grammar
- Ensuring terminology consistency across documents and projects
- Working with style guides, glossaries, and client-specific language requirements
- Collaborating with project managers and editors to meet scope, deadlines, and quality standards
- Managing multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail
- Supporting time-sensitive client requests by confirming availability and estimated timelines for rush translations or RFP-related opportunities when needed.
Content types may include (but are not limited to):
- Professional and business documents
- Policies and procedures
- Reports, proposals, and training materials
- Website and marketing content
- Technical or instructional documentation (depending on experience)
- Official government and public-sector documents, including policy papers, regulatory materials, guidance documents, and program documentation
- RFP-related and procurement documents, such as bid submissions, statements of work, and supporting technical or compliance documentation
Qualifications
We are seeking translators and writers with demonstrated experience in professional or technical environments.
Required Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in French and English
- Proven experience in professional translation and/or French writing
- Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and linguistic nuance
- Ability to preserve meaning, tone, and intent across languages
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- Professional translation certification (e.g., ATA, OTTIAQ, ATIO, or equivalent international certification) highly preferred
- Degree or formal training in Translation, Linguistics, French Studies, or a related field
- Experience translating documents for government, public-sector, or publicly funded organizations is strongly preferred, including policies, procedures, reports, or regulatory materials.
- Familiarity with formal, regulatory, or compliance-driven language
Preferred Experience (one or more)
- Business and professional writing
- Technical or policy documentation
- Government, legal, healthcare, or corporate content
- Editing and proofreading translated materials
Additional Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 1–5 years of relevant translation or writing experience
- Familiarity with translation tools (CAT tools, terminology databases, or QA tools) is an asset
- Willingness to comply with client confidentiality and data privacy requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Comfortable working in a fully remote, project-based environment
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving project needs

Payment
